Historic journey

With over 10 years of experience, Aequus Ensemble has been involved in numerous artistic projects alongside various choral groups. As an example, we can mention works ranging from A. Vivaldi's Gloria, G.B. Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, W.A. Mozart's Requiem, or G. Fauré's Requiem, to contemporary music such as O. Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass.

This group is formed by musicians of different ages and places in Euskal Herria, directed since its creation by Aitor Biain Bidarte. Recently, it has joined Ganbara Faktoria and, while continuing its collaboration with choral groups, has embarked on its own journey by performing its own programs. Among their recent performances, notable ones include W.A. Mozart's Divertimento K. 138, F. Mendelssohn's String Symphony No. 10, B. Britten's Simple Symphony No. 4, or J. Sibelius's Impromptu 5.

Comprising around thirty enthusiastic string instrumentalists, with the aim of carrying out various projects, the group has expanded with wind and percussion musicians, enabling the performance of symphonic programs by L.V. Beethoven, F. Schubert, or F. Mendelssohn.

Additionally, with the aim of promoting instrumental music, Aequus Ensemble organizes educational concerts for young instrumentalists and music students.
